Candidacy

The Candidacy is a summer program for young men discerning their vocation to the priesthood with the Legionaries of Christ. It is a “live-in” experience which affords a young man the opportunity to get to know the Legion from the inside and see how we live religious life.

Many find the Candidacy to be a true encounter with Christ. Daily prayer, Rosary, adoration, Mass, Scripture reading, and access to Sacrament of Reconciliation are essential parts of the Candidacy experience. A candidate also experiences living community life within the Legion and receives daily explanations of our spirituality, community and mission

Other classes include a study of recent Papal documents and the Spanish language.

The daily schedule also includes sports (basketball, soccer, baseball, ultimate Frisbee, and hiking) and work periods (house and garden chores).

To participate in the Candidacy, you must have finished high school and completed the Candidacy application process.

2017 Candidacy Dates: June 15 – August 23, 2017
